Google group set up to post views on

Kerala Public Works Department

A Google group called 'Speak About Kerala PWD' for throwing bouquets and brickbats on Kerala Public Works Department has been set up by the Department. The group which began functioning on 18th January will serve as a platform for creative discussions on new initiatives of the department as well as a forum for constructive criticism.

The group is managed and monitored by the Public Information Cell of the Kerala PWD. ``Here you can post your views, ideas and suggestions on various activities carried out by the Kerala PWD. We are interested to know how each one of you understands, accepts/reacts to the various projects/policies/performances of the overall activities of the Department,’’ says the introductory note on the group’s web page.

A user with an e-mail ID can directly log on to the site and register himself as a user for taking part in the discussions happening in the group.  The initiative of the department followed the launch of a toll-free helpline number for registering complaints. The complaints registered at this number will be addressed within 48 hours.

``Though the Google group is a forum to air the views of the public on PWD initiatives, we will take note of the complaints posted on this group and try to find a solution,’’ said a PWD official. He said PWD Principal Secretary Tom Jose and PWD Minister P.J. Joseph will monitor the debates on the discussion forum.
