He is the former Chief Secretary to the Government of Kerala. An acclaimed writer, poet, Composer, a great linguist, an able administrator, and many of his other qualities make him a multi faceted and multi dimensional personality. During his long years in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) he served as the Secretary and Principal Secretary of various departments of the Government of Kerala. He has also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Shree Sankaracharya University. Being a great reformer and visionary, his contribution to the field of general education is outstanding.

He has widely traveled around the world. His knowledge in various subjects and international exposure will be a great advantage for WRSP

He is the President of the Indian Sociological Society. He is a great educator and scholar with a Doctorate in Sociology from the University of Pittsburg, USA; and Masters in five social sciences such as: Sociology, Economics, Economic Development, Political Science and History.

He has a treasure of experience in designing, directing and executing research projects for Govt. of India Ministries of Family Welfare, Social Welfare, Ministry of Home and Ministry of   Education (now part of HRD) He has also undertaken several researches for UN agencies such as: FAO, ILO   and WHO, etc. Apart from this he has published several books and scholarly works. He has organized several   international conferences and more than 40 conferences/ seminars/ workshops at national level

He has retired as the Criminologist of Kerala Police. He is a specialist of behavioural science and criminology. In recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of criminology he has been awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ by the American Society of Criminology. He has also been named in the LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS – 2006, as one who wrote the maximum number of books (most of them are best sellers) on crime, Police and Justice. He is a great motivator and personality development trainer.

He is often invited by various departments and media for consultation and discussion on various subjects such as: behavioural science, criminology, attitudes and behaviours of teenagers and adolescents, driver behaviour, road user behaviour, alcoholism and use of psychotropic substances etc

He is an Orthopedic Surgeon at Cosmopolitan Hospital, Trivandrum. After completing his M.S. Ortho, from Trivandrum Medical College, he went to U.K for further training in Orthopedics. There he passed FRCS (Gen.) and FRCS (Ortho). After that he received advanced training in shoulder surgery from Perth, Australia. He is a great preacher of Road Safety. He volunteers himself for Road Safety Training Programmes conducted by various agencies and departments. Taking advantage of the valuable time the patients (who come for the out patient consultations) spend in the waiting room, he displays some road safety videos and messages to alert them about the silent killer of Road Traffic Accidents.
