Shri C. Subramaniam IPS , President |
He is the former Director General of Police (DGP), Kerala. An outstanding Police Officer,he has been decorated with various awards and honors and that includes the Prime Minister’s Police Medal for meritorious service and the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service. He was one among the few Officers who were always chosen by the Central and State Governments for special assignments such as fighting terrorism in the North–East and Punjab during the height of terrorist activities. As the Inspector General (IG) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) he led the Indian Peace Keeping Operations in Sri Lanka. He proved his desire for Road Safety by enforcing the use of Helmet for the first time in the State of Kerala.
His deep knowledge in enforcement and proficiency in administration will definitely be a great advantage and guidance for the Governing Body of WRSP |

Shri Sony Thomas , Vice President & Chief Executive Officer |
He has been a media person and a Road Safety Publicity specialist for several years. Over the past ten years he has been working as a Road safety Expert and Road Safety Publicity Expert under various projects in India which includes 3 years experience as the head of Road Safety Publicity programme by Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP), a World Bank Financed Project. His experience in working for world’s most famous media agencies such as TBS, CNN, and MCNG etc. had given him great exposure in various global issues and experience in traveling around the globe.
During his career, he has been privileged to represent Presidential Delegations, visited several war torn and famine struck countries, associated and worked along with several Human Right Agencies such as Amnesty International, National Human Right Commission etc. As a war reporter (embedded journalist) he served under adverse climatic conditions and life risking areas. He has experience in conducting various surveys at refugee camps and victims of war. Since 1998 he is working as the CEO of Sherwood Technocrats and Consultants Pvt. Ltd., a consultancy firm specialized in Road Safety. |

AIR CMDE NUK Nair VSM , Vice President & Secretary |
Air Commodore Nair brings with him more than 35 years of distinguished service with the Indian Air Force encompassing several critical assignments. He was Senior Engineering officer for the Air Force VIP Communication squadron from 1984-89, with overall responsibility of the fleet of aircraft meant for transporting the President and Vice President of India, The Prime Minister and Foreign Heads of State. Later as Director-Engineering, Air Headquarters; and subsequently as SMSO-Southern Air Command, Air Cmde Nair was primarily responsible for ensuring availability of Fighter Aircraft fleet across the various squadrons of the Air Force as well as maintenance and logistics support to ensure maximum safety and operational capability of these fleets, Air Defense Radars and other support facilities.
In recognition of the distinguished services rendered by him, he was awarded the VISHIST SEVA MEDAL (VSM) and a Letter of Appreciation by the Prime Minister of India for ‘Professionalism of a very High Order’. His rich cross functional experience adds a valuable dimension to WRSP

Shri T.V Satheesh , Vice President & Treasurer |
He has retired as the Superintendent of Police, Kerala. During his service, he was decorated with 16 different awards including the President’s Award for the meritorious services rendered by him. He has an excellent track record of being an Officer willing to take up any difficult tasks that includes life risking assignments.
During his tenure as the Asst. Commissioner of Traffic, Calicut City, he had conducted several surveys and researches to solve the complex traffic situation of the city. While implementing new traffic management systems, he referred and included innovative techniques in traffic management and enforcement systems successfully practiced in other parts of the country. After his retirement, he joined Sherwood Technocrats & Consultants Pvt. Ltd. as the Programme Director. During his two years service assignment with the firm, he was responsible for conducting Road safety Awareness Programme, a project by the Kerala State Transport Project (a World Bank Financed Project). |

Jolly Varghese , Executive Director |
Ms. Jolly Varghese is a dynamic and accomplished professional with rich and diverse experience in academic, research, training, coordination, leadership and management positions. Her solid background in geography, education and communication coupled with strong interpersonal skills has given her a track record of achieving significant results in every sector she has worked. Beginning her career with Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi and later as the coordinator for PEAS, an NGO working towards environmental awareness, she has expertise in creative, research and organizational work. Her stint as teacher of geography and environmental education has honed her excellent training and presentation skills. She is familiar with using NLP as a communication tool while working as Associate with Mind Masters, Centre for Behavioral Technology. In a management position with an international training organization she has the experience of working across wide range of social, cultural and demographic sections along with considerable exposure to community outreach and service programs.
At present as a diligent researcher and executive director of WRSP, it is but natural to expect WRSP to scale great heights in the road safety domain. |

Prof. Jacob John Kattakayam , Director |
Presently he is serving as the Director cum Professor of UGC Academic Staff College, University of Kerala. His services and achievements ranges from being a great academician and researcher to serving as a visiting Professor to several Universities around the world that includes, University of Southern California; Montclair State University – New Jersey; Morgan State University; Duke University – North Carolina and visited several universities in USA, Canada, Europe, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia and delivered lectures. Recently he has been nominated as a member of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) by the Government of India.
His immense knowledge in various sociological issues and international exposure will be a great advantage for WRSP. |

Shri P. Sasidharan IPS , Director |
He has retired as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kerala. He is the grandson of the great reformer and freedom fighter of Indian history, Late Shri Ayyankali. Before joining the Police Force, he was working as Block Development Officer (BDO). This gave him a great opportunity to learn about the different life styles and cultures of the rural population. Later on, as the Deputy Superintendent of Police, he served in many districts. He has also served as the Assistant Commissioner of Traffic, Trivandrum City. During this period several traffic management programmes were carried out by him. He formed a committee of officers of PWD, Transport and Police to deal with various traffic related issues. As part of the various initiatives taken by him, the eviction of road encroachers, installation of traffic signals at busy junctions, Training programme for Transport Bus drivers, Traffic safety training for school children, Training programmes for taxi and auto-rickshaw drivers etc were widely accepted and appreciated by both officers and public at large.
He has also served as the Principal of Police Training College, Trivandrum and later he became the Dpty. Inspector General of Police, Training. Apart from that, he was the Joint Commissioner of Excise and Southern Range DIG. His knowledge and experience in traffic safety issues and enforcement will be a great support for WRSP. |
